Ahmad is coming to Germany from Afghanistan in 2015. His application for asylum is rejected, but the rejection is not yet legally binding when he stabs the 17-year-old trainee Mireille 14 times with a knife in her apartment. It is said that he had been in a relationship with her for over a year. A witness will later say in court that it was a 2-year on-off relationship.
The perpetrator calls the rescue service, which tries in vain to save Mireille's life. The murder weapon is found. The perpetrator is arrested on remand.
Neighbours say that Mireille left the house temporarily only with a headscarf. A friend says that Ahmad wanted his girlfriend to convert to Islam. It is conceivable that the perpetrator hoped for a residence status through marriage and Mireille wanted to separate. There is probably at least one recorded event before, in which the young woman cried for help with a head wound.
Victims and perpetrators were both cared for by the Youth Welfare Office. In September 2018, the trial begins at the Flensburg Regional Court. An expert considers the accused to be "at least 21, probably even 29".
An interesting detail: The house where Mireille lived was a new building. Previously a house had burned down there. At the end of 2014 a Lebanese had injured his ex-girlfriend and her sister with a hatchet and pistol and then set the fire. In 2014, the Flensburg Regional Court sentences him to 8 years and 7 months imprisonment for this.
