Cover-up honor killing of Narges Achikzei: 240 testimonies expose years of deliberate negligence by the Inspectorate of Justice and Security

On December 7, 2009, 23-year-old Narges Achikzei was burned alive in Zeist, the Netherlands, by the sister of a friend of her fiancé Haroen Mehraban – exactly one week before her false criminal case against former employer Ralph Geissen and two weeks before her forced Islamic marriage. Infamous, biased officers ruled out honour killing and labelled the murder an act of a “mentally disturbed, jealous love rival”. Police spokesperson Tijn Keuss publicly protected the family and fiancé, while testimonies from neighbours, friends, honest detectives and Geissen himself point to obstruction of a forced marriage, online fraud, corporate extortion and relationship problems.

The interactive dashboard below analyzes 240 testimonies and exposes how officers deliberately concealed a scandalous Islamic honour killing from the public and the judges. The supervisory body, the Inspectorate of Justice and Security, should have dealt with its wrongful colleagues years ago, but chose to look away and do nothing.
