Bianca G.
born: 1993
stabbed to death: September 11, 2020
Location: Lübeck
Origin: Victim: Germany; Perpetrator: Turkey
Children: 1 son, 1 daughter (4 and 9 years at the time of the crime)
Perpetrator: her ex-boyfriend Cenk D. (29 years)
In August 2020 office clerk Bianca will divorce her boyfriend Cenk, who works for a tobacco company. After that there are several police actions in the former shared apartment.

On September 11, 2020, Cenk enters his ex-girlfriend's apartment and stabs her "with a multitude of stitches", as is said later. A neighbor had seen him before, while he was in the basement of the house. The culprit already had a knife with him then. Why the witness did not call the police is unknown.

Bianca's new boyfriend Tim (33 years old) is present during the deed. His role is unclear. It is said that he made the emergency call and then talked to the perpetrator. Possibly he was in shock. The perpetrator is arrested at the front door.

Bianca had a son (4 years old) and a daughter (9 years old) who were not in the house at the time of the crime. Paternity is unknown. At one point it is said that the perpetrator wanted to bring the children to Turkey. This would possibly indicate that he is the father.

What is an honour killing?

An honour killing is a murder in the name of honour. If a brother murders his sister to restore family honour, it is an honour killing. According to activists, the most common reasons for honour killings are as the victim:

Questions about honour killings

  • refuses to cooperate in an arranged marriage.

  • wants to end the relationship.

  • was the victim of rape or sexual assault.

  • was accused of having a sexual relationship outside of marriage.

Human rights activists believe that 100,000 honour killings are carried out every year, most of which are not reported to the authorities and some are even deliberately covered up by the authorities themselves, for example because the perpetrators are good friends with local policemen, officials or politicians. Violence against girls and women remains a serious problem in Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Iran, Serbia and Turkey.
