Maria works as an educator in a Protestant day care center in Pforzheim. Her Tajik husband stabbed her 29 times on May 17, 2017. She dies 2 days later in the hospital.
Tajikistan is an Asian Islamic republic that formerly belonged to the Soviet Union.
The day after the crime, a policeman recognizes the wanted man in a car on a country road and calls his colleagues. The offender is arrested after a short chase.
In November 2017 the trial will begin at the Regional Court of Karlsruhe. It turns out that the woman had moved to her son 2 weeks before the crime. We are talking here about 3 decades of physical and mental humiliation. In December, the perpetrator is sentenced to life imprisonment and compensation for pain and suffering for murder. The defense lodges an appeal.
