This act is preceded by a long history of violence. In June 2017, the Tunisian Abdelmonaam is on trial. Since 2 years the police is dealing with attacks, dangerous bodily harm, threats and insults of his girlfriend, probably a German. The two have a child together. Abdelmonaam was already in custody.
2016 the partner obtains a temporary restraining order under the Violence Protection Act. He does not obey the injunction, but it does partly support his behaviour. The district court of Dresden sentences the asylum seeker to one year and 3 months. Despite the violence and Abdelmonaam's obvious contempt for the rule of law, the sentence is suspended.
On October 24, 2017, Abdelmonaam stabs 35-year-old Paul, apparently the new boyfriend of his former partner. He dies 3 days later in the hospital.
The police are publicly searching for the perpetrator. Almost 1 week later Abdelmonaam is arrested in the apartment of another asylum seeker.
The real name of the victim is unknown.
