Perpetrator: her ex-boyfriend Resul A. (aged 33 at the time of the crime)
For a while, Gülay and Resul live together. Then he has to start a prison sentence.
When he gets out of prison, Gülay has emancipated herself and no longer wants to be with him. Resul does not want to accept that at all.
In court, Gülay is told not to come within 500 meters of her. Nevertheless, in October 2010, he is at her door. She calls 2 friends, they meet to talk on the street.
After an hour, Gülay wants to get in the car. Resul stabs her 3 times in the back. Gülay undergoes emergency surgery, the perpetrator flees.

What is an honour killing? |
An honour killing is a murder in the name of honour. If a brother murders his sister to restore family honour, it is an honour killing. According to activists, the most common reasons for honour killings are as the victim:
Human rights activists believe that 100,000 honour killings are carried out every year, most of which are not reported to the authorities and some are even deliberately covered up by the authorities themselves, for example because the perpetrators are good friends with local policemen, officials or politicians. Violence against girls and women remains a serious problem in Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Iran, Serbia and Turkey. |
