On the morning of 5 January 2018 Gülesen goes to work. Her husband Aydin, who lives separately, lurks in front of her front door and stabs her 21 TIMES. Neighbours hear the screams and attack the perpetrator. He flees, but is arrested an hour later. His motive is that his wife has separated, which he cannot accept.
Gülesen comes to hospital, undergoes emergency surgery and survives.
Aydin is on record, an Proximity Prohibition against his ex-wife already exists before the Act.
In September, the perpetrator is sentenced to life imprisonment by the Hanau Regional Court for attempted murder and dangerous assault.
