Attempted murder: 8 May 2013

Origin: Victim: Germany; Perpetrator: Morocco
Children: a daughter (10 years)
Perpetrator: her divorced husband Marouane H. (38 years)
Marouane studied agronomy in Morocco and came to Germany in 2002. In 2003 he married Monika, a nurse, with whom he had a daughter.
Monika will divorce in 2011, which Marouane will not accept. He pursues her, becomes violent and in April 2012, after three months in custody, is sentenced to one year's probation. But that doesn't stop him from stalking her further. On May 8, he invades her apartment and stabs her. He yells, "I'm gonna kill you." A neighbour comes to the rescue and calls the police. The cops arrest Marouane at the scene. Monika is taken to the hospital.
The process will start in July 2013. Before the Cologne Regional Court, Marouane admits all the charges (dangerous bodily harm, threat, insult) - with the exception of the intention to kill. In August, he is sentenced to 4 years and 8 months imprisonment for inflicting dangerous bodily harm.
The Cologne newspaper changed the name of the victim.
