Honour killing story
born: 2001
stabbed: July 16, 2019
Location: Halle (Saale)
Origin: Afghanistan
Children: probably not
Perpetrator: her "fiancé" Rami D. (30 years old at the time of the crime)
Nasi is 18 years old and lives since 2015 with her mother Najiba in Halle (Saale). Rami is 30 years old and lives in France. One can only assume that Nasi should marry him.
Presumably she refuses. On July 16, 2019, a fight breaks out and Rami kills "his fiancée" with more than 30 knife stabbings in her apartment. The police find the seriously injured woman, she undergoes emergency surgery, but bleeds to death.
The same evening, the perpetrator is arrested at the main railway station in Frankfurt/M.
What is an honour killing? |
An honour killing is a murder in the name of honour. If a brother murders his sister to restore family honour, it is an honour killing. According to activists, the most common reasons for honour killings are as the victim:
Human rights activists believe that 100,000 honour killings are carried out every year, most of which are not reported to the authorities and some are even deliberately covered up by the authorities themselves, for example because the perpetrators are good friends with local policemen, officials or politicians. Violence against girls and women remains a serious problem in Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Iran, Serbia and Turkey. |
