2 children
born: 2012 and 2014
Murder: 14 May 2020
Residence: Schwarzach (Bavaria)
Origin: unclear, perhaps Tunisia
Children: they were children themselves
Perpetrator: their father Samir A. (32 years at the time of the crime)
The story is unclear: The mother (29 years old) of a girl and a boy (6 and 8 years old) is divorcing her husband Samir. On May 14, 2020, the children go to visit their father. He kills them on the night of the 15th. Someone calls the police.

Samir's apartment was forced into, the bodies of the children were found. A search for the perpetrator is started. At 4 a.m. he reports to the police in Straubing.

The name Samir could indicate an origin from North Africa, perhaps Tunisia. If one also wants to speculate about the motive, one can possibly do so in this way: Samir wants to punish his wife as much as possible for the divorce and the resulting violation of honour and kills the children for that reason.

What is an honour killing?

An honour killing is a murder in the name of honour. If a brother murders his sister to restore family honour, it is an honour killing. According to activists, the most common reasons for honour killings are as the victim:

Questions about honour killings

  • refuses to cooperate in an arranged marriage.

  • wants to end the relationship.

  • was the victim of rape or sexual assault.

  • was accused of having a sexual relationship outside of marriage.

Human rights activists believe that 100,000 honour killings are carried out every year, most of which are not reported to the authorities and some are even deliberately covered up by the authorities themselves, for example because the perpetrators are good friends with local policemen, officials or politicians. Violence against girls and women remains a serious problem in Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Iran, Serbia and Turkey.
