Poorna Kaameshwari Sivaraj and son Kailash Kuha Raj
Born: 1984, 2017
Assassinated: xx-09-2020
Residence: Brentford (London)
Origin: Malaysia
Children: 1
Perpetrator: her husband Kuha Raj Sithamparanathan (42 years)
According to the police, the father lived for more than two weeks with the bodies of his wife (36) and son (3) after he stabbed her to death with a knife and strangled his son. Their dog had also been killed.

Kuha Raj Sithamparanathan committed suicide when the police raided his home. He was treated by police and medics for his stab wounds, but died on the spot.

Neighbors say the couple had problems during the Covid-19 lockdown. They claim that they heard the woman yell at her husband more often to take his medicine and he had once thrown his medicine out the window.

"During the lockdown I heard them arguing very often. It went on and on, one scolding followed another, it was fierce. The lockdown may have caused a lot of stress within the family.

It's sad because they were very nice people, said a neighbor on British television."

The police are investigating the circumstances of the family drama.

So far, it is uncertain whether or not this is about honor-related violence. We look forward to your comments!

Questions about honour killings

  • refuses to cooperate in an arranged marriage.

  • wants to end the relationship.

  • was the victim of rape or sexual assault.

  • was accused of having a sexual relationship outside of marriage.

Human rights activists believe that 100,000 honour killings are carried out every year, most of which are not reported to the authorities and some are even deliberately covered up by the authorities themselves, for example because the perpetrators are good friends with local policemen, officials or politicians. Violence against girls and women remains a serious problem in Pakistan, India, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Iran, Serbia and Turkey.
