The perpetrator: her ex-boyfriend
Katharina (called Katha) is a fitness trainer and lives with her boyfriend in Einbeck, Lower Saxony. She wants to get divorced and spend the night with her sister in Hardegsen.
On August 11, 2016, her ex-boyfriend waits in the evening in the parking lot at her sister's apartment and stabs Katharina. Residents call the rescue service. She dies a few hours later in the hospital.
Katharina's ex-boyfriend is 28 years old, unemployed and a former employee of a security company. He is arrested and remains silent.
In January 2017, the Göttingen Public Prosecutor's Office filed a manslaughter charge. In February the trial starts in court. In October the perpetrator is sentenced to life imprisonment. The court stressed that a friend of the defendant's friend probably helped him to cover up the murder weapon. The defence appealed.
It is still unclear whether this is an honour killing and which nationality the perpetrator has. We look forward to your comments!
