Honour killing story

Luna M.
born: 1971
strangled: 14-15 March 2015
Residence: Bremen
Origin: Victim: Syria; perpetrator: Iraq
Children: 1 daughter, 1 son (3 and 5 years)
Perpetrator: her husband Shakhwan Suleman Mohammed (47 years)
Shakhwan is an unemployed Iraqi nurse who has lived in Germany since 1992. Since 2005 he has had both Iraqi and German nationality. In 2008 he marries Luna, who has a Syrian and a German passport. She divorces in the spring of 2014. The two have two children together, but probably also other children from previous relationships. The boy is autistic and stays with his mother, the girl lives with her father in Oslebshausen.

Shakhwan refuses to accept the divorce and starts stalking his wife. In the autumn of 2014, the local court will issue an order to protect against violence. He is not allowed to approach the apartment, but the area ban will be lifted in February 2015 because of the joint custody of the daughter.

On March 14 or 15 Shakhwan strangled his wife in her apartment, which at first went unnoticed. When the handicapped son does not come to kindergarten for a week, the police enter the apartment and find the strangled corpse, which has been there for several days. An international arrest warrant is issued.

Too late: The perpetrator flies with the two children from Bremen airport to Turkey on March 16.
