This case is not an honor killing. It is the story of a distortion - a crime of honour. The public prosecutor's office will later speak of an abstract life-threatening danger.
Moon's marriage was in Bangladesh. Nothing is known about the circumstances except that the woman is 17 years younger than her husband.
The marriage is violent. On April 18, 2017, the father heats oil on the stove until it bubbles. Then he grabs his wife by the hair from behind, pulls her head back and pours the oil in her face - in front of the two sons. The older brother calls the emergency doctor.
The trial begins in November at the Frankfurt Regional Court. The woman does not testify. One can assume that she has been put under pressure.
In December, the offender is sentenced to 4 years in prison for assault and attempted serious assault. The judge tells the perpetrator: "Your attitude is abominable and inhuman, as we have only rarely experienced in the criminal court."
The man is presumably released prematurely from prison and then again represents a danger to his wife. This may also be the reason why she did not testify. The correct names of the persons involved are not known.
