Children: min. 3 (8, 16, 24 years)
Perpetrator: her husband Mohamad A. (53 years)
Roya and Mohamad will come to Germany with their 2 younger children in August 2014. Together with their eldest son, who already lives there, they live as recognized refugees in Bergen on the island of Rügen. Probably they still have 2 children who may have returned during the flight. Mohamad's profession is indicated by plasterer.
Life in Germany did not develop as Mohamad wished. There are conflicts, probably also domestic violence. With the support of her sons Roya temporarily puts her husband outside the door. He spends the night outside and observes the apartment day and night - a stalking story, not unusual in the run-up to an honour killing.
On 23 November 2016, Mohamad stabbed his wife more than 20 times with a knife in her apartment early in the morning. Heavily injured she runs into the street and collapses. Witnesses warn the police.
Roya dies in the hospital, the perpetrator is arrested at the scene of the crime. The two younger children go to the eldest son.
In May 2017, the manslaughter trial starts at the Regional Court of Stralsund. Mohamad says that his wife and children have become increasingly independent in Germany. He didn't even want to come to Germany himself. He demands the death penalty for himself.
In June, the offender is sentenced to 12 years imprisonment for manslaughter. Roya is not the real name of the woman.
