Because Fatima behaves too European in the opinion of her ex-husband, he attacks her several times. He gets a restraining order. Since her escape from Iran, Fatima no longer wears a headscarf.

On December 30, 2016, Omid drives to his ex-wife's house and rings the doorbell at her neighbour's house. He gets access to her apartment and insists that she return to him. She refuses. He stabs her with a knife and then goes to the kitchen to get a bigger knife. Fatima flees to the stairwell. Neighbours call the police.

In April 2017 the trial for attempted manslaughter starts in the Magdeburg court. Fatima's appeal is referred to as "studied history teacher". Between Afghanistan and Germany she lived (presumably with her husband) in Iran. Unfortunately, the verdict is unknown.
